Be a leader, every day

When you wake up in the morning, do you have breakfast? What affected your choice of cereal? Your clothing? Why did you choose that specific tie, or dress? Chances are, you are choosing it because it is clean, and you believe it looks good on you. Why do you think it looks good? What defines what looks good and what doesn’t?

We are such products of our environment!

When I drive down the road, I see some people looking at their phones, some people not wearing their seatbelts, and some people driving their vehicles as fast as they can possibly go! Little do they realize, they are not only risking their own lives, they are risking the lives of others around them.

So why do we behave the way we do? Obviously those around us influence our decisions, in both positive and negative ways; so how are the decisions we make affecting others? When you decide that it is okay to not wear that seatbelt, when you decide you don’t need those safety glasses, that hearing protection, that mask, what message are you sending to others?

Think about the people in your life that you look up to the most, the people you admire, the ones that make you want to do more with your life. What is stopping you from doing the right thing? From making the tough choices, from working hard to achieving your goals, regardless of what others think?

Be an influencer! Be a leader! Do the right thing!
